Parked Up
What the site is costing you — and what to do about it.

Prepared for Nick O'Callaghan parkedup.co.nz June 2026
Confidential · Nick O'Callaghan · Parked Up · Not for distribution
00 · Summary

The venue is world-class. The website is losing you bookings every day.

Someone searches "Auckland birthday venue" on their phone at 9pm. They find Parked Up. They tap through to the bookings page. They're asked for their budget before they've been told anything about the space. There's no confirmation when they submit. Most of them leave.

This audit covers five dimensions across all four pages of the site. Two are critical. The fix is specific, fast to implement, and will show results within the first week of going live.

The form asks for your budget before it asks for your name.

Estimated Budget is the fifth field. No name field exists at all. Asking for budget that early — before trust is established, before the venue has been sold — signals you're screening them, not welcoming them. It's the single biggest conversion killer on the site.

  • F-02

Nothing happens after someone submits. No confirmation. No next step.

There is no visible confirmation message in the page source after form submission. The person who just filled out your form has no idea if it worked. The 24-hour promise is buried in an ALL CAPS heading above the form — not in the moment it matters.

  • F-03

"Opening soon for casual walk-ins" is still live. It's been there since at least late 2024.

Every new visitor sees this and questions whether the venue is fully operational. It undercuts every other trust signal on the page before they've read a word.

  • F-04

The homepage has six sections. Every single one ends with the same CTA and the same copy.

Birthday parties, corporate events, the fire truck, food and drink — each section ends with "Find Out More" linking to /bookings. No differentiation, no story, no reason to keep reading. It reads like a template that was never finished.

  • F-05

You have a 4.7-star Google average and dozens of specific reviews. None of them are on your site.

Reviewers name you personally. They talk about the fire truck, the staff, the pizzas. That's free conversion material sitting completely unused while every competitor is building trust with testimonials.

  • F-06

The About Us page has two paragraphs about a building. You're not on it.

Nick is the reason people come back and the reason they trust the venue. Reviewers cite you by name. The About page talks about a 1905 Edwardian caretaker's residence and nothing else.

  • F-07

Six security headers are missing. The enquiry form has no spam or abuse protection.

No HSTS, no Content Security Policy, no X-Frame-Options. The form has no honeypot, no rate limiting, no CSRF token visible. For a site handling private function enquiries this is an exposure that takes a few hours to fix.
